The aim of the department is to develop reading, speaking and writing skills in Turkish at the highest level by means of research studies and teachers' training practices. It correspondingly aims at encouraging the students to promote the development of their own research abilities in the field as a basis for creating genuine and innovative ideas.

The department offers a Turkish Language Education Program. The aim of this program is to provide a four-year bachelor's degree education in order to train potential Turkish teachers who are supposed to teach in both public and private primary schools of The Ministry of National Education as well as private institutions offering specialized courses. Likewise, the graduates can be assigned as researchers in the related programs at universities.
